These are the premium watercolours from Russian manufacturer, NEVA PALETTE, and are an excellent choice for the beginner watercolourist. Many of the colours are single pigment and most are strongly pigmented.

This set includes 12 full pans in a hinged plastic box with approximate closed size of 10 x 11 x 2.5cm.

Colour selection is based on the palette of Australian artist and teacher, Judy Salleh, who helped us test these pigments: 203 Cadmium Lemon (PY35), 228 Indian Yellow (PY150), 302 Cadmium Red Light (PR108), 324 Quinacridone Rose (PR122), 511 Ultramarine (PB29), 508 Cobalt Blue (PB28), 503 Cerulean Blue (PB35), 713 Emerald Green (PG7), 716 Sap Green (PY150, PG36, PBk7), 405 Raw Sienna (PBr7), 406 Burnt Sienna (PBr7), 408 Burnt Umber (PBr7).

Pans are semi-moist and rewet easily. Large pan size is good for access, especially if you use a larger brush.

Once a pan is empty you can replace with a new pan (available seperately) or fill the empty pan with any of the artist tube paints (and allow to dry for 5-7 days). Full pan volume is approximately 4mL.

Pans are white plastic and inidividually wrapped in a foil label. As you unwrap each pan, write the name of the pigment on the outside of the pan with a permanent marker.

Paint can also be diluted with WHITE NIGHTS Medium.

Excellent value set.

Judy Salleh runs Sketching and Watercolour Classes in Manly and Mona Vale, Weekend Workshops and Overseas Trips. Judy is a colourist and particularly loves pen and watercolour.
