Darker and more staining than Alizarin Crimson, and vastly superior in permanence, Carmine is also redder. This staining pigment, rich and intense, will retain its luminosity in dark passages, but will dilute to produce subtle tones without reducing its permanence. Darkest of the reds, Carmine will help you achieve clear neutrals when mixed with its complement, Phthalo Green.

These are the stick version of DANIEL SMITH Extra Fine Watercolour paint. This stick format can be used directly on the page for drawing or can be rewetted with a paint brush for painting. Each stick is approximately 75mm long and is wrapped in a label with pigment information.

Store away from humidity, especially if you plan to draw with the stick, as humid environments can cause the stick to soften.
